The chalkboard is quality but the description failed to mention that it has a chalk tray on one edge which I did not want. Luckily I was able to trim them down with a table saw and they work great.

I bought this chalkboard to be included as part of a custom cabinet. Originally I wanted an enameled steel blackboard, which is impossible to get in small sizes in a reasonable amount of time. This chalkboard is fine for the price. However, the surface is a little bit delicate-- take care not to scratch or mar it with anything other than chalk. Surface will dissolve with mineral spirits. Also, the fiberboard is only 1/8" thick, and as is typical of thin fiberboard with a coating on only one side, it won't ever be perfectly flat (unless you glue it to a better substrate). Product came with care instructions. Frame and chalk tray are fine.

I bought this chalkboard as a present for my kids and I got the wooden frame. My first impression was amazing! It looked great, it was clean, stylish, and durable. I chalked it in 3 or 4 times before I gave it to my kids because I was terrified of stains and having a hard time cleaning it. I am so glad I chalked it in because I still have trouble cleaning it. However, this is my only complaint about this chalkboard so, it is a great value for your money. Everywhere I have read says that chalkboard get easier to write on and clean the older they get so, hopefully after a while I can give this product 5 stars instead of 4.

I run a small in home child care. I got this for the kids to play on, it is the perfect size. It does have the metal tray on the bottom to hold chalk and such. It is good for at least 2 kids to share. They love to play school on it. It was the best price I could find for this size. It does not come with screws for hanging so you have to find the right size to fit in the holes provided on the hangers in back. That is my only complaint, other than that it is great.
BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
